We are a centennial family farm located in Buffalo, Illinois, which is in the center of Illinois prairie farm ground. Our family was fortunate enough to host the Farm Progress Show on our farm in 1969.
Polled Herefords
In 1965, we introduced the Polled Hereford breed to the farm. We purchased females from Wyoming, Montana, Canada and Florida. We strive to produce Polled Hereford females that milk well, breed back quickly, and produce heavy calves. Our cow herd currently consists of 120 females blending the pedigrees of Victor Domino, Network, Klondike, Rice and NJW.
Red Angus
The Red Angus herd began after we made several trips through Wyoming and Montana. We quickly noticed many ranches were using Red Angus bulls on their females and many Red Angus cows were being used as embryo transfer recipients. We purchased ten Red Angus females at the Rouge River dispersal. These females are big with a lot of volume and performance built in to them. The deciding factor in choosing the Red Angus breed was their great disposition and we feel they are a great complement to our Polled Herefords.
